PIXAGO is a word game where pictures read as syllables.
ENGLISH BY PLAYING
The game is played in English, but it is not vocabulary drill. The picture has to be read first, and only then does it fit into the word. Vocabulary grows on its own, because every round is a puzzle rather than an exercise.
THE CATALOGUE
Behind the game sits a catalogue of three thousand words and a hundred pictures. Every word is taken apart into stones — letters and picture pieces — so the same hundred pictures serve thousands of different combinations.
WHY IT LOOKS LIKE THIS
The look is offset print: saturated blue, cream paper, black blocks and a plate patina running across the whole screen as one sheet. It is not a filter over the game — it is how a digital game keeps the physical origin of the board one.
